A drum roll, please!

Stocking stuffers! Christmas is just a little more than a month away, so it’s time to think about rocking the stocking with a small, personal gift you know will bring a smile to someone’s face! Why favours?

So glad you asked! Favours fit perfectly into virtually every stocking size, and it’s easy to find a favor to suit almost anyone. Pick a different favor for everyone on your list or find one favor with special meaning and buy a bunch to get the price break!

Here’s a personal example—I not only love to read, I also do everything I can to encourage reading for both kids and adults. My stocking stuffer last year was the lovely, winter themed “Snowflake” bookmark with stunning ice-blue tassels. Long story short—everyone loved them! As you’ll see when you head to Kate Aspen’s site, we feature bookmark favours in several styles. Buy one or two—or more than a few!

Getting together with lots of girlfriends over the next few weeks? How about stuffing their stockings with a manicure kit favor or a trendy luggage tag?

And who among us doesn’t have a few family and friends who are exceedingly fond of tea? Toss one of our terrific tea favours in each fabric footie, and their cups will runneth over with delight!

When beverage preferences include beer and wine, we’ve got you covered—stuffer-wise—there, too! Drink in these bottle stoppers and bottle openers; they’re just a few of the choices we have in our collection!

Well, now that you’re stuffed with useful information—specifically, why Kate Aspen favours make “little gift” shopping a piece of fruitcake, I’ll be on my way to find more bright ideas for your holiday!

Wedding Trend 2012: Bouquets That Amaze!

Posted by Kate Aspen UK | Posted in wedding favour ideas | Posted on 03-11-2011

And it’s not just a “big-bloom boom”! In the coming year, the flowers in your bridal bouquet might be sharing the space with a few enhancements, some made by humans and some by Mother Nature. For starters, next year’s bouquets are coordinating with next year’s trends toward vintage and Victorian wedding styles and rich earth tones. Let’s talk!

  • With vintage and Victorian wedding gowns, Lilly of Weddings by Lilly suggests using “feminine, soft colours such as cream, ivory, white, light pink, or lavender in big blooms like anemones, gardenias, hydrangeas or peonies.” Here’s the part adore! She recommends that you embellish your wedding bouquet with things like pearls, lace or sparkly, vintage brooches on the stems. Gorgeous!
  • · It’s time to style down the aisle with bouquets featuring “unconventional bouquet plants and natural earthy greens, such as feathers, fruit, grasses, ferns and herbs.” The idea is to create the look of an English garden.
  • This upcoming trend is lovely, too! Lilly predicts a change from the past few years—instead of those big, bright bundles of flowers, “think natural earth tones with one small splash of colour.” Imagine a bouquet of white gardenias with one purple anemone thrown in the mix, or a bouquet of peach peonies and white flowing feathers along the edges, with pearls trimming the bouquet stems.

Lilly also reminds you to consider the seasonal viability of the flowers you want as well as the colours that will tie into your wedding scheme. Make sure the flowers you’ve set your heart on are available at the time of year you want to marry.

Adding pizzazz to your bouquet doesn’t diminish the beauty of the flowers one tiny bit! If you’re a big fan of flowers, your reception-table centerpieces and wedding favours are ideal spots to infuse with flowers. Think about including pearls, feathers, crystals, sparkly brooches, lace, and even a few of those “unconventional plants” in flowered centerpieces. Simply smashing! And favours? Cast your eyes on these fabulous, flowery thank-you gifts!

So many Kate Aspen favours celebrate flowers that you’ll find it simple to top your tables with unique favours that also add pizzazz to your décor! Meanwhile, make your bouquet the hit of the day!

Your Love In Perfect Harmony—A Music Theme Wedding!

Posted by Kate Aspen UK | Posted in wedding celebration ideas | Posted on 26-10-2011

Music soothes the savage beast, makes your heart sing and fills your life with so much joy and wonderful memories.  We all remember where we were when we heard “our song” for the first time.  And every time we’ve heard it since, we proudly exclaim, “That’s my song!” as we groove to the beat.  Music just has a way of weaving itself into the very fabric of our lives.  So, if your love fills the air with the sound of birds chirping or you carry a special song in your heart just thinking about the one you love, a music-theme wedding might be perfect for you.  What a wonderful way to celebrate your special day, with the songs and the theme that moves you.  Music—it’s a beautiful thing!

Classic colours with contemporary flair
Most people think of black and white for a musical colour scheme, and rightly so.  Black and white is classic, chic and trendy all at the same time.  Add an accent colour or metallic hue, and you’re good to go!  But, there are lots of other colours that work well with a music theme, like blush pink, cream and black or metallic silver and gold as an accent.  Basically, any colour that goes well with black and white will work for a music theme.

Musical details make your wedding sing!
Probably the most common way to personalize your music theme wedding is with your favourite music.  But, in addition to that, you should let you r love of music be seen in all of your wedding details.  Sheet music can be used to create all sorts of things, like place cards and place mats, and they can be rolled to create a cone holder for confetti for a musical sendoff.  Speaking of sheet music, if you’re a crafty, do-it-yourself bride, you can make a simple streamer by cutting hearts out of sheet music and suspend them throughout the room.  If you play an instrument, use it as a prop at the reception or in your engagement photo shoot.  Musical notes can accent your wedding cake or be used as a cake topper.  For a different kind of guest book, have your guests sign a guitar!  You can probably find an old instrument at a garage sale or flea market.  You’ll also find musical ring bearer pillows, guest books and other wedding accessories that you can use for your special day.

Love’s song never ends…
Clearly, you don’t have to be a musician to have a musical celebration.  Simply let your love of music be your guide.  For the perfect finale to your concert of love, give your guests a music-themed wedding favour to complement the song in your hearts!  From cookies to place cards and bookmarks, music notes and instruments make excellent music favours.  But, remember, the key to pulling off this or any other wedding theme is to keep it simple and tasteful—and Kate Aspen’s wedding favours help you do just that!

Happy planning!
